Richard Labaudiniere, Ph.D., President & CEO

Dr. Labaudinière is President and CEO of FoldRx Pharmaceuticals, Inc., bringing over 19 years of international experience in drug discovery and development, including 16 years in multinational pharmaceutical companies, such as Glaxo, RPR and Aventis. Prior to FoldRx, Dr. Labaudinière was Senior Vice-President of Research and Development at Genome Therapeutics, now Oscient Pharmaceuticals. At Genome Therapeutics, he was responsible for building and directing all drug discovery and development activities. He oversaw the development of Genome Therapeutics' lead product candidate, Ramoplanin, for the prevention, treatment and control of serious hospital-based infections and Genome Therapeutics' biopharmaceutical portfolio of discovery and development alliances with pharmaceutical companies including Amgen, AstraZeneca, bioMérieux, Schering-Plough and Wyeth, in the field of osteoporosis, asthma and infectious diseases.

Before joining GenomeTherapeutics, Dr. Labaudinière held numerous senior management positions at Glaxo, RPR and Aventis, having full oversight for discovery and development programs, in many different therapeutic areas, from target selection to drug candidate selection and clinical development programs. His R&D efforts have resulted in several therapeutics reaching clinical development and the market.

Dr. Labaudinière is a graduate of Ecole Nationale Supérieure De Chimie in Montpellier, France and is author of over 70 publications and patents.


Christoph M. Adams, Ph.D., Chief Business Officer

Dr. Adams has served as our Chief Business Officer since joining our company in September 2005.

Prior to joining us, from July 2001 to August 2005, Dr. Adams was Senior Vice President, Business Development for ViaCell Inc., where he was responsible for strategic planning, commercial product development and corporate partnerships. Previously, from March 1994 until February 2001, Dr. Adams served as Vice President, Business Development for Transkaryotic Therapies Inc. Prior to that, Dr. Adams was Director of Business Development for the Pharmaceutical Division of Ciba-Geigy Limited, Basel, Switzerland. He has a diploma in organic chemistry and biochemistry and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Zurich. Dr. Adams also holds an M.B.A. from INSEAD of Fontainebleau, France.


Christine Bulawa, Ph.D., Senior Director, Research

Christine Bulawa received a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. As the first employee of Myco Pharmaceuticals (later ChemGenics), Christine developed methods for target validation for the human pathogen Candida albicans that become a cornerstone of a partnership with Pfizer in the area of antifungal drug discovery. At Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Christine and her group applied genomic technologies to the Pfizer-Millennium Antifungal Program and successfully developed hit-to-target screening approaches and compound mechanism-of-action capabilities. In addition, Christine used yeast as a model system to advance targets and compounds in Millennium's Cardiovascular Biology, Metabolic Disease, Inflammation, and Oncology programs.


Donna Roy Grogan, M.D., Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Grogan has served as our Chief Medical Officer since joining our company in March 2007.

From 2000 to 2007 she served in various senior positions in the medical department of Sepracor Inc., most recently as Senior Vice President, Clinical Research. In this position she was responsible for three departments, Medical Therapeutic Area Experts, Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance, and Clinical Pharmacology and Bioanalysis. She was involved with multiple INDs and NDAs, including three NCE approvals (Lunestaâ, Xopenex HFAâ and Brovana TM). Previously, Dr. Grogan served in clinical research at Astra USA and at Medical Technical Research Associates Inc. As a General Internist, she also held the position of Assistant Professor of Medicine, Department of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.

Dr. Grogan received her M.D. from the University of Illinois Medical School, Chicago, IL and a B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA


Jeff Packman, Vice President, Drug Development Operations

Jeff Packman is Vice President Drug Development Operations for FoldRx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and is responsible for advancing FoldRx's drug candidates into and through clinical development. Jeff brings over 13 years of international experience in drug development and operations management. Prior to joining FoldRx, Jeff headed Drug Development Operations and Project and Alliance Management at Oscient Pharmaceuticals. At Oscient, he was Project Leader for the company's two clinical development candidates and was responsible for building and directing all operational activities for Oscient's clinical development programs.

Before joining Oscient Pharmaceuticals, Jeff was Associate Director of Worldwide Business Operations for the Regulatory Affairs division of PAREXEL International Corp., a multi-national contract research organization serving the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. At PAREXEL, Jeff was responsible for directing the worldwide operations of two groups within the Regulatory Affairs function, Regulatory Operations and Business Operations, and was a member of the company's North American Operating Committee.

Jeff received a Bachelor's in Biology from Colby College and a Master's of Business Administration with Highest Honors from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business Administration at Babson College.
